This coming weekend, I will be presenting a fun project at ACAMIS in TIanjin, China!
Participants will engage in a creative, hands-on process where they transform stuffed animals into entirely new creations. Using techniques such as sewing, cutting, rearranging, and re-stuffing, they will explore how deconstruction and reconstruction can breathe new life into familiar objects. Collaboration will also play a key role, as participants can exchange ideas, materials, or even work on projects together to encourage creative problem-solving and teamwork.
Once completed, the newly crafted pieces will be carefully photographed, with attention given to composition, lighting, and angles to highlight their unique details. These photographs will then serve as visual references and inspiration for a subsequent drawing and painting project, allowing participants to further analyze form, texture, and design. This multifaceted activity combines tactile craftsmanship, artistic interpretation, and collaboration, fostering both technical skills and creative expression.
