Community art projects are extremely important to the development of community culture and comradery. Relationships develop, conversations happen, and communities strengthen.
I believe that everyone deserves a quality art-making experience. As a community artist, I develop a dialog with people about issues they are facing. Together our dialog becomes the content of finished artwork created by the community for the community, where I am both a facilitator and participant.
Through methods of self-expression, storytelling, imagination exploration, and stretching personal boundaries, my workshops help participants build cognitive and hand-based skills, problem solve, collaborate with their peers, and foster confidence.
