Howdy! I'm Lindsey Bailey.
I am currently teaching art back in the United States after teaching overseas for 4 years (Singapore for 3 years and Qatar for 1 year). Beyond my own studio work, I teach art at Brookwood School and facilitate community projects around the world.
In 2008, I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art. In 2010, I graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) with a Master of Arts in Community Arts. And in 2016 I graduated with my second masters degree, a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art, also from MICA.
I don't just make art, I make friends.
I believe that art has the power to connect people across all boundaries. People, places, and things inspire me. I busily overload my iPhone with pictures while forging new friendships in my travels.
I lived with an elephant for 3 days and tangled with tigers in Thailand. I love India so much that I even studied Bhangra and Rajasthani Folk Dance at the Delhi Dance Academy. I learned the hard way to always travel with cash and not cards ever since being stranded penniless in Hanoi, prior to being stuck on a train for 37 hours traveling to central Vietnam during a monsoon. My favorite city in the world is New York because it never sleeps and has an insatiable energy!
